Catherine Campbell is a fiction writer, essayist, and book critic. Her writing appears in The New York Times, McSweeney's, Writer's Digest, The Millions, The Rumpus, Brain, Child Magazine, Kenyon Review, Ploughshares, and elsewhere.
During the day, Catherine owns and operates Bright Planning, a national marketing & PR agency for ethical, pioneering brands. She offers marketing and publicity consulting for authors and literary organizations, and also offers creative writing workshops in Asheville. She earned her B.A. in Literature and Creative Writing at UNC-Asheville and her MFA in Creative Writing at Queens University. Catherine is a member of the National Book Critics Circle, Association of Writers and Writing Programs, and the North Carolina Writers Network.
She was born and raised in the N.C. Appalachian Mountains. Catherine lives in Asheville, North Carolina with her son Thaddeus and her husband, the writer Brandon Amico.
She is currently working on a novel and essay collection.
